About me

I am Felix Stackfleth, a gong maker by conviction.

In the early days of the legendary company Gongland, I had the unique opportunity to learn the traditional craft of gong making from the ground up. Under the guidance of the renowned gong master Rolf Nitsch, I developed a deep understanding of materials, resonance and sound.

 

In addition to my work as a gong maker, I have been a passionate guitarist for many years, drawing from valuable live and studio experience as a musician.

 

During my degree in media technology with a focus on sound design, I gained a fundamental understanding of the physical principles that shape the universe of sound. This fusion of science, craftsmanship, and musical experience allows me to see the gong as a total work of art – with all its subtle nuances, rich dynamics, and unmistakable character.

 

With Stackfleth Gongs, I pursue a clear vision: to create gongs that meet the highest standards of sound quality and craftsmanship.

To me, gongs are not just musical instruments. They are lifelong companions. Instruments that allow the player to bring their innermost emotions to the surface.
